Modular School System
Architecture as a learning framework
The project explores architecture as a direct expression of an alternative educational model, where learning is understood as a flexible, individual, and environment-driven process. Rather than imposing a rigid structure, the school is conceived as a system that adapts to different rhythms, needs, and forms of interaction, allowing education and space to evolve together.
The design is based on a modular strategy that offers spatial versatility and a close relationship with the natural surroundings. Independent classroom units can be grouped or dispersed across the site, connected by a continuous covered circulation that organizes movement and defines differentiated learning paths. Architecture becomes a mediator between teaching, landscape, and daily life.
Each module reflects the adaptability of the pedagogical approach. The classroom expands when required, opening toward the exterior and dissolving the boundary between indoor and outdoor space. Natural light, cross-ventilation, and visual connection with nature have become essential learning tools, reinforcing awareness, curiosity, and well-being.
Wood is used as the primary construction material, expressing sustainability, balance, and respect for the local environment. The school is envisioned as a living structure open, flexible, and non-invasive where architecture supports exploration, self-knowledge, and a strong sense of belonging.
