Inhabiting the Limit WHAT IF ... the human being ended destroying the planet ... our cities are drowned, buried in the sea ... we are homeless on our own planet. WHAT IF ... we find a solution; we try to inhabit the limits ... we explore other means of life. WHAT IF ... human beings expand their limits ... we are still here but under the water ... we adapted as amphibious hybrid.

Inhabiting the Limit is a speculative, dystopian project that imagines a future where the planet has crossed a point of no return and most of the Earth is submerged under water. Faced with environmental collapse, humanity is forced to rethink not only architecture, but its own biology.

The project proposes the emergence of a hybrid, amphibian human capable of living both in air and underwater and a new habitat to support this transformation. A floating platform, formed by modular hexagonal and triangular elements, expands across the ocean surface like an oil drop. It serves as a living system rather than a static structure: a place for survival, food production, research, energy generation, and the preservation of art.

Submerged agricultural capsules rise to the surface when harvests are ready, while glass domes cultivate fungi and vegetables beneath the sea. Anchored yet mobile, the platform can remain fixed or drift in search of new territories.

This project questions progress as we know it and proposes adaptation instead of conquest—suggesting that true evolution may not be about escaping the planet but learning how to inhabit its limits.
